About Master Halco

1951

Master Halco began in 1951 as Master Fence Fittings, operating out of a small garage on Garvey Avenue in El Monte, California. With just one press and a few hand benders, the foundation was laid for what would become a nationwide industry leader.

In 1958, according to former owner Donovan O'Donnell, "Master Fence Fittings was starting to receive many calls to handle pipe and tubing and now it was necessary to expand into this field." In August of '58 we started Master Pipe, Inc.

In just 3 years, Master Pipe Inc. proved its success in fittings & pipe. It was now time to move into what Master Halco is widely known for today - manufacturing our own Chain Link Fabric. In 1961, we started Master Sales, Inc. to dive into the world of Chain Link Fabrication.

1964

In November 1964, the first sales branch of Master Fence Fittings was opened in Hayward, California. It began with a temporary office within an old, small, one-room construction shack. But that didn't stop us from growing! As time went on, we moved into larger and larger warehouses.

1972

Olney, Illinois, became Master Fence Fittings’ sixth location and its second manufacturing facility. The company began to manufacture vinyl coated chain link fabric as a logical addition to the existing product line. The Olney branch celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2022!

1980

Master Fence Fittings purchased Halco Fence & Wire. This acquisition added 12 service centers and one manufacturing plant specializing in galvanized chain-link (GAW) fence fabric.

A major milestone: the Master Halco name and original logo were officially introduced — uniting Master Fence Fittings and Halco Fence & Wire under one brand. It marked the beginning of a legacy that’s been trusted by fencing professionals for over four decades.

1995

Master Halco expanded internationally with the acquisition of McLellan Fencing and the formation of Master-Halco Ltd. in Canada — bringing trusted products and personalized service to fencing professionals across the border.

A defining moment in our brand story — Master Halco introduced the logo that still represents us today. More than a new look, it marked our evolution into a modern, unified company ready to lead the industry into the 21st century and beyond.

Master Halco expanded into Quebec with the acquisition of Clôtures Lasalle Ltée and Clôtures Bel-Air Ltée. These strategic additions strengthened our Canadian footprint — leveraging its fence contracting capabilities and expanding our presence in home center channels.

Master Halco acquired Jamieson Fence Supply, bringing together two industry leaders with deep roots and strong reputations. This powerful combination strengthened our nationwide reach and laid the groundwork for long-term growth and continued success for both our company and our contractor partners.

Acquired US Vinyl Fence and Forest Product Sales in Salt Lake City, Utah, becoming the new home for our SLC branch.
